An opportunity for a Financial Accounting Manager/Financial Controller has arisen in one of the nation's best loved children's charities. This role manages a team of five, responsible for the primary ledgers, financial controls, production and reconciliation of the balance sheet, cash flow, VAT/Tax compliance, statutory accounts production and other external reporting. You will have responsibility for delivering operational effectiveness and technical compliance in this area. This is a dynamic, high performing team, committed to providing value added financial advice to the organisation and continuously striving to improve efficiency and effectiveness.

Responsibilities include
*Ensure annual reports and statutory accounts are prepared in accordance with Charity SORP
* Manage workload of team and delegate appropriately and manage the performance of staff through regular 1-2-1 meetings
*Implementing, enforcing and monitoring internal controls procedures
*Ensuring compliance with tax regulations, and completing returns with accuracy and on time
*Delivery of month end timetable
*Preparation of key reports for management including weekly cash flow reporting, monthly investment reporting, fixed asset reporting and balance sheet review commentary
*Co-ordinate the year end close process, including provision of detailed guidance to staff
*Co-ordinate the external audit process, including the production and collation of audit schedules.

The ideal candidate will be a fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA) with previous experience in staff management. This role would suit an ACA qualified accountant with 3+ years post qualification experience in industry. Experience in all industries will be considered.
