An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Social Media Executive to join a growing digital team in Central Reading, Berkshire for a maternity cover to start in December. This company provides the essential service at the heart of daily life, health and enjoyment to 15 million customers across London and the Thames Valley and are going through a period of exciting change. On a typical day, it supplies 2.6 billion litres of top quality drinking water and its 350-sewage treatment works to treat more than 4.2bn litres of waste-water. Our client is offer a salary of up £26,000 depending on experience and have a range of company benefits including an excellent contributory pension scheme, childcare vouchers, and season ticket loans and paid volunteering days. The Social Media Executive is responsible for developing and implementing the social media and community strategies, as part of the Digital team. Why apply? What will this role involve? Key responsibilities for the Social Media Executive: Working in the Digital Customer Experience team but will work closely with a variety of business areas, such as the Press Office, Marketing, Brand, and External Affairs, ensuring we are achieving our business and brand objectives. Creating and publishing original high-quality content for sharing on our social channels. Planning, managing and executing a daily social media content calendar in line with the Brand and Marketing calendar. Reporting results on a weekly and campaign basis and optimising content plans based on insight and learnings. Work with other teams (PR, marketing, design, brand) to create content specific to the requirements of each platform. Monitoring conversations on social media channels to inform new content briefs and be aware of competitors and influencers. Monitoring trends and capitalise on relevant topics and developments that could promote our brand and increase engagement Supporting Marketing teams on paid social media campaigns, advising on platform specifics and advert copy. What skills are we looking for? We are seeking a self-motivated and creative professional who can confidentially demonstrate a their flare for creative writing. Inter-personal skills will be the key to your success in your search for stories as you work to devise unique and engaging content from the most unsuspecting of business areas. We are keen to speak to candidates with previous marketing experience or a recent graduate of a related degree. Ideally you will have previous experience within social media, copywriting, digital. You will have excellent copy-writing and proof-reading skills with minute attention to detail and a strong grasp of marketing fundamentals with comprehensive knowledge of social media platforms (and the benefits/challenges of each) Proficiency in Photoshop skills and a creative flair in social media is a distinct advantage Closing date is 13th November 2017
