Trace is looking for a bright and ambitious, self starter to join the finance function of a division of one of our clients in the role of Management & Reporting Accountant. The company has a strong history of growth and progression and has ambitious plans for the future. This opportunity is ideal for a newly qualified accountant either looking to make their first step out of practice into Industry or an industry trained accountant with good experience from within the Financial services/investment sector.

This particular division manages £1.2B in Assets spread across a number of Funds. This role, reporting to the Senior Finance Manager will take full responsibility for all aspects of the management accounting and financial reporting for the flagship LSE listed Fund. The role will lead on the monthly management accounting process, including balance sheet reconciliations, consolidation and variance analysis under IFRS. The Management and Reporting Accountant will also be point person with a range of advisers, such as auditors and tax advisers, to facilitate the preparation of group and subsidiary financial statements

Essential Functions

Management Accounts preparations

Ownership of the monthly management reporting process including consolidation, monthly balance sheet and intercompany reconciliationsMonthly reporting package including KPIs, MI and variance analysisReviewing journals, posting and carrying out review of monthly resultsLiaising with external auditorsMaintenance of Budgets, Forecasts and other financial analysisFinancial reporting

Liaising with tax, legal and other professional advisers and posting of tax journalsDrafting quarterly, interim and annual financial statements and announcementsOverseeing the drafting and final review of subsidiary financial statementsTaxation

Review of VAT and CIS returns prior to submissionReview registration for companies for VAT / CIS as requiredPreparation of VAT option to tax formsProviding information and liaising with the Fund’s tax advisers and registrarAssistance in the annual review of transfer pricing, including drafting intercompany loan agreementsOther:

Preparation of quarterly Board packs and Audit Committee papersManagement of the quarterly dividend processResearch and coordination on investor relations and queriesProviding information to assist in preparation of Fund Investor presentationsAd-hoc analysis and projects as requiredAbout you:

Newly Qualified accountant, up to 1 year PQEAttention to detail, strong numeracy, verbal and written communicationTrack record of identifying and implementing improvementsComfortable working in a feedback culture with an ambition to develop skills and experienceKnowledge of the real estate tax regime would be advantageous
