Senior Project Manager (Support, Manager, Project Manager) Salary: Competitive Location: London Key Responsibilities of the Senior Project Manager (Support, Manager,Project Manager): Collaborate with multiple stakeholders across the organisation toclearly define business outcome, required project outcomes and key milestones Determine most effective project methodology and agree appropriategovernance with Business Sponsor and other key stakeholders Identify & plan project resource needs and structure, workingwith internal partners to ensure that appropriate resources can beallocated to support the project and providing clarity over the rolethat each is required to play Drive the creation of project options and development of appropriateBusiness Case through socialisation and demonstration of thought leadership Manage day-to-day project activity (planning, budgeting, resourcemanagementetc.) ensuring appropriate communications to project team and stakeholders Manage escalations appropriately to ensure key decisions made bystakeholders consider risks and benefits Provide regular reporting on project timing, cost and status to the PMO Leads Project Working Groups and Steering Committees Create compelling materials to facilitate effective and efficient decisions Key Technical Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Behaviours needed forthe Senior Project Manager (Support, Manager, Project Manager) role Key Behaviours and Competencies: Expertise Applies project management experience to deliver a range of medium tolarge scale change projects across the charity. Ability to matrix manage a disparate group of skilled, technical personnel Strength to manage challenging and demanding stakeholder group whilstmaintaining a strong customer service orientation Has a good understanding of what the CRUK is trying to achieve andunderstands the impact that they, their work and team makes incontributing to those objectives. Leadership & Impact Manages and delivers own day-to-day workload and priorities withminimal guidance and supervision outside the regular 1:1 / team updates,but able to exercise judgement on appropriate escalations. Maintains a high professional standard of self conduct and anawareness of impact beyond own team and Tech and Change department Calm, confident and articulate communicator who can concisely andmemorably impart information to colleagues and/or customers, guiding andenabling them to understand other points of view. Influences othersusing clear and persuasive arguments, building internal networks forcollaboration and knowledge sharing with other parts of the charity. Builds strong internal networks for collaboration and knowledgesharing to aid current and future projects Demonstrates a good understanding of the charity's broader strategyand how it impacts and influences the priorities of the team maintaininga keen awareness of financial impacts of decisions being taken both froma cost and benefit perspective Applies initiative to continuously improve processes and is confidentin making recommendations. Takes responsibility to implement agreedchanges, learns from mistakes and actively seeks opportunities to putlearning to good use. Ability to face challenges without being easilydiscouraged, as well as encouraging colleagues to persevere. Approachable by team and other CRUK staff and available to provideadvice, guidance and support to colleagues and/or external stakeholdersand may be responsible for general data administration. Ability to solvea range of straightforward problems only seeking direction, guidance andsupport of colleagues in more tricky situations and workingcollaboratively with others to overcome larger scale issues Takes ownership of own career development; often seeking outopportunities beyond current role to improve results and provideopportunities to challenge and stretch yourself. Resource Management: Responsible for delivering projects and managing resources, ensuringproject management fundamentals/principles are followed. Ability toarticulate a case for change and build strong stakeholder support,creating consensus around outcomes, timelines and milestones. Ability to manage project budgets taking personal responsibility forkeeping the Charitys costs down, proactively managing resources andmaterials, which may include negotiating with suppliers to obtain thebest possible deals or challenging proposed solutions where analternative may be more suitable/effective.
