Job Description for: Credit Controller (Debt Management Team)

Reporting to: Doctors Chambers Credit Control (DMT) Team Leader

Based at: Newcastle

Job purpose:

As a Credit Controller within the Debt Management Team you will be responsible for cash collection from your own allocated ledger. You will be assessed on your ability to communicate with external customers to facilitate prompt cash collection and liaise with internal departments to obtain a good understanding of customer issues which may affect their debt collection;

Key responsibilities:

Chasing overdue invoices by telephone, email & letter within agreed timescales for allocated ledger

Fully investigate and reconcile your ledger prior to following the legal process

Ensuring that all debts chased are appropriately documented and recorded on the customer account

Maintaining accurate records of all chasing activity

Maintaining and updating accurate customer information

Timely resolution of queries both internal and external

Posting/reallocating payments to accounts as required

Providing monthly debtor updates and ad-hoc reporting to the Credit Control Team Leader

Skills, knowledge and experience required:Minimum 2 years previous debt management experience, preferably in a medium to large organisation

Solid knowledge of credit control dunning processes

Ability to work independently, using own initiative to problem solve

Attention to detail

Excel skills, Pivot tables, VLOOKups preferable

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with clients and colleagues alike

Time management, Self-motivation and the ability to prioritise work load

Willingness to take on any task required, in order to ensure deadlines are met
