With an immediate start, this is a fantastic full time SEN Teaching Assistant opportunity to join a fantastic and very successful Primary SEN Unit which supports pupils with ASD (Autism) aged 3-11yrs.

The Head of Unit is looking to recruit & appoint ASAP, with trial days being held after the half term week…!

POSITION: SEN Teaching Assistant – ASAP start – DBS required!

PERSON: Ideal for Psychology Graduates – interest or/and experience with Autism required!

SCHOOL: Fantastic Primary School SEN Unit – aged 3-11yrs – Hugely Successful!

LOCATION: Central London – Borough of Camden – Zone 1

TRANSPORT: Multiple Public Transport Links – Northern & Victoria Lines – 2 minutes’ walk

START DATE: ASAP start – Full Time until July 2018

PAY: Paid £70 per day – rising to £80 per day


To work within such a testing learning environment, applicants will need to have a genuine interest and passion to work supporting children with Autism (ASD). The head of unit is looking for a hardworking, bright and caring graduate, who perhaps have their sights set on a career within education, focused on psychology. You will need to be confident and able to deal with the daily challenges that arise when working with Autism / ASD. ONLY those able to commit full time, until July 2018 are asked to apply, with consistency of real importance for this role. Previous experience supporting such needs would be a real advantage and ideally required!


If successful, you will become a full time SEN Teaching Assistant. You will join a brilliant team of teachers and teaching assistants, who work well as a tight knit unit. You will be given the very best support, as you make the transition into the team and given any and all training required for you to successfully support pupils within the unit. You will have the opportunity to learn and develop your understanding and skills using PECS and Makaton, both valuable methods of communicating within such a dedicated environment.


The unit is very well resourced, sharing its site with one of Camden’s best mainstream primary schools. This is a unique and rare opportunity within Central London, located within Zone 1, perfectly located and easily accessible from both the Northern and Victoria Lines.
