This is an exciting opportunity for a Qualified Management Accountant to join one of Liverpools most well-known and highly regarded businesses (with UK operations & schemes totalling over £500m) for a 12-18m interim opportunity to provide maternity cover. With the very strong opportunity for a permanent appointment - due to the companies rapid expansion and new contracts/funding coming in over the next 12 months this is an excellent Management Accountant opportunity, based in easily accessible, very impressive modern and sophisticated offices just outside the city centre. Joining a friendly, dynamic and impressive finance team headed by an impressive FD and FC you will take full responsibility for the management accounts for your own portfolio of the business, in a role spanning Management Accounting, Business Partnering and a degree of Financial Accounting. Your remit will include:

  • Management Accounts preparation for internal and external stakeholders (including banks and third party landlords).
  • Year-end audit packs and liaison with external auditors for a number of legal entities.
  • Preparation and presentation of accurate management information
  • Business Partnering with Finance and Non Finance Budget Holders
  • Budgeting & Forecasting
  • Working to drive business improvements and efficiencies.
  • Preparation of short and long term cash flow forecasts
  • Preparation of bank covenant compliance reports of actual performance against covenants
  • Preparation of forecasts for future performance against covenant.
  • VAT returns
  • Working closely with Financial Controller and Finance Director on ad hoc projects designed to improve the efficiency of the financial processes.
  • Supporting the Management of the Finance team

Applicants will be fully qualified ACCA or ACA and will be motivated, hardworking and reliable with prior experience of preparing management accounts within a fast paced finance department where accuracy, integrity & dependability is essential. You will also have excellent communication skills and the confidence/gravitas to engage with all levels of senior management, forging strong business relationships & supporting strategic decision making. Applicants with Property Management/Construction sector experience, Prior experience of Navision or have operated in a fast moving & entrepreneurial environments will be of particular interest.
