oyd Recruitment Services is working with a leading media and events publisher based in West Sussex looking for a Senior Marketing Executive.

Job Summary

·To plan and execute marketing campaigns for conferences that achieve delegate revenue targets and maximise ROI

·To oversee the execution of targeted email, direct mail, digital, social and telemarketing campaigns

·To ensure all marketing is delivered in line with the brands’ positioning, ethos and strategy

·To work with the Head of Brand Marketing to ensure conference campaign data selection and list building is conducted in line with brands’ data strategy

·To create new and improve existing processes for campaign testing and analysis

·To devise effective processes for cross promotion of non-conference products

·To help the company continue to build deep relationships with its customers

·To work as part of a team whilst still own initiative to make decisions and come up with great ideas


1. Campaign Planning:

Receive a briefing from the Event Producer to understand the value proposition and target audienceResearch and analyse key competitor eventsProduce a strategic marketing plan detailing event KPIs and outlining how the marketing activity will deliver them. Present the strategic marketing plan to all relevant event stakeholdersProduce a targeted marketing communications plan for each event, to include DM, eDM, website, telemarketing, advertising, marketing partnerships, social media and PR as appropriateDevelop a marketing timeline for each event, ensuring optimum lead times for each element of the campaign2. Prospect Data Selection and Management:

Work with the Data Team to select relevant prospect data from the company marketing databases using analysis of previous campaigns where appropriateIdentify data gapsSeek new sources of prospect data for list research and brief the Data Team thoroughly on requirementsInvestigate and utilise external data sources where appropriateEnsure all data build is aligned with brands’ wider data strategyEnsure that prospect lists are targeted and are a balanced reflection of the event’s target audience profile3. Partnerships:

Identify potential supporting partnersApproach and negotiate beneficial partnership terms with key partnersWork with Head of Brand Marketing to coordinate brand-wide agreements where appropriate4. Social and SEO Campaigns:

Work with the Event Producer to plan and deliver effective social media campaignsSet appropriate Twitter hashtags for each eventMonitor social activity and respond to posts where appropriateOrganise the design of supporting images for social campaignsPlan effective PPC campaigns (including Google and LinkedIn)5. Telemarketing:

Select and provide relevant call lists for the telemarketing teamWork with the Event Producer to ensure telemarketers are given a thorough briefWork with the Membership Manager to monitor and react to telemarketer feedback and performance
6. Campaign Delivery and Analysis:

Work with Events Executive to ensure campaigns are executed in a timely fashion and that the marketing timeline is kept updated at all timesTrack the performance of all marketing channels on an ongoing basis, including interpretation of campaign results and proactively reviewing tactical plansManage a process for ongoing testingCreate / proof marketing collateral, adhering to brand guidelines and write copy as requiredDevise campaigns promoting press attendance where appropriate and collate post-event coveragePrepare a full post-event marketing report within 4 weeks of each eventDevise new commercially viable ideas to improve marketing campaignsEnsure all marketing campaigns are delivered within the pre-agreed budgetExperience/Qualifications:

Proven track record of delivering B2B marketing campaigns - ideally within eventsPreferably a graduate or with a professional qualification in marketing or related business areaExcellent email marketing experience, from a strategic level, planning campaign strategy's and analysing dataIn return a basic of up to £30,000 plus excellent company benefits
