DIMENSIONS

You will be required to work closely with internal departments in order to successfully deliver departmental objectives within the two seperate divisions of the business

Main duties are to maintain, plan and organise day to day finance activities in a very busy office environment as well as ad-hoc tasks for the Divisional Director. There will be other ad-hoc requests to support the Finance Director.

Key tasks will involve the use and maintenance of in house Sage 200 systems and prepare financial analysis using spread-sheets – to do this, planning and daily communication with both internal and external customers will be important.

Financial reporting is a fundamental part of this position and is required on a weekly, monthly and annual basis. The ability to be flexible and adapt to any task is essential.

Development and training of non-financial staff on all finance matters to help establish a successful project management business.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Cash flow, management, forecast, balance sheet and other ad hoc reporting.
• Producing and finalising Management accounts
• Detailed Budgeting
• Support Director of Facilities and other contract stakeholders, helping prepare monthly accounts packs and external reporting
• Helping managing a team of accountants, to help achieve the above accountabilities, through objective setting, coaching and development of team members

PLANNING AND ORGANISING

• Manage and prioritise a diverse workload
• Planning, organising and adhering to timetables/schedules
• Delivering reporting information to corporate timetable
• Helping the business operate within agreed budgets and contractual rate cards.
• Ensure that maximise profit and minimise costs from its financial contractor relationships with good commercial awareness.

DECISION MAKING

• Ability to use own initiative/problem solving.
• Make recommendations for improvements in reporting systems and implement once agreed.
• Identify and escalate issues that need resolving when rollout schemes go off budget or where adverse variances are noted in the management accounts
• Be commercially aware at all times.

INTERNAL AND EXTERNAL RELATIONSHIPS

• Develop & maintain a close working relationship with the Director of Facilities
• Develop & maintain operational relationships within the business, internal and external colleagues and suppliers.
• Positive “can do” attitude is essential.
• Ability to work both alone and within a team.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED

• Fully qualified accountant – CIMA, ACCA or ACA
• Extensive previous experience of maintaining records/ spread sheets and working in a structured and methodical fashion
• Ability to plan and use physical and financial resources effectively and efficiently, supported by an understanding and application of financial monitoring and management in line with organisational policies and procedures.
• Excellent communication skills & good telephone manner
• Experience of operating IT systems/Microsoft Office/Sage/other ERP IMS systems
• Ability to manage/prioritise own workload
• Capable of working under pressure and constant attention to detail
• Flexibility to cover other team member duties during absence
