Purchase Ledger Clerk needed to join rapidly growing Specialist Education & Healthcare firm based in Central London, paying up to £24,000. This person will take on responsibility for processing supplier invoices and maintaining appropriate records in relation to the Group and related entities.

Role

  • Responsible for the accurate and timely processing of all supplier invoices and credit notes following the company's procedures of entry, checks and approvals
  • Utilise the PO system to ensure that invoices are matched to the approved purchase order
  • Maintaining suppliers with Direct Debit agreements in place
  • Produce payment run reports for approval
  • Completion of payment runs including sending remittances to suppliers
  • Monitor accounts to ensure payments are up to date
  • Maintain the finance inbox to ensure all invoices and credit notes are acknowledged and copies saved in the appropriate location on the network/system
  • Maintain vendor files
  • Produce monthly/weekly/daily reports according to the needs of the department
  • Ensure that all invoice-related enquiries are dealt with promptly and professionally
  • Ensure supplier records are accurate and up to date
  • Reconcile supplier statements
  • AP ledger maintenance
  • Assist with AP relevant transactions for bank reconciliations
  • Assist with month end close
  • Provide supporting documentation for audits

Profile

  • Knowledge of accounts payable and general accounting procedures
  • Proficient in data entry and management
  • The candidate will have the ability to multi-task and can demonstrate attention to detail, accuracy, time management and organisational skills. Good communication skills are essential as you will be liaising with suppliers and key stakeholders daily
  • Intermediate Level Excel
  • Good finance systems skills
  • Pro-active, organised, accurate, with an ability to meet deadlines and self-manage
  • A good communicator and team player with a focus across both internal and external customers, both financial and non-financial
  • The ideal candidate will have 1-2 years experience in a purchase ledger focused role.
