The client
Our client is a specialist in planning applications for small to medium scale wind site. They are looking to give an opportunity to a recent graduate to gain experience in the planning/renewables sector.

The Role
The main crux of the role will be based around the preparation of planning applications for wind sites. This opportunity would be ideal for a recent graduate (undergraduate or post graduate) of courses such as town planning, countryside/environmental management, renewable energy, etc. with a small amount of renewable planning experience.

Main duties
• Gathering and analysing data for the preparation of environmental reports
• Utilising GIS and specialist wind energy software
• Ensuring compliance with planning policies, environmental legislation and best practice guidance
• Producing high quality reports, statements, maps and other necessary documents
• Attending meetings/site visits with clients, local authority planners and statutory consultees
• Liaising with local planning authorities, statutory consultees and colleagues

The candidate
• Enthusiastic, motivated and keen to learn
• Strong report writing and analytical skills
• Team player with further ability to work independently
• Professional and friendly attitude with ability to liaise with variety of individuals
• Interest in gaining valuable experience in the renewable energy sector

Essential skills & qualifications
• Educated to degree level in a relevant subject
• Understanding of planning processes and environmental assessment methods
• Interest in renewable energy and sustainability
• Excellent report writing (MS Office), communication and project management skills
• IT skills such as GIS
• Full UK driving licence
• Eligibility to work in the UK
