Job Role

Our Client is a successful UK medical business with an expanding range of complex patient monitoring and defibrillation products aimed at a growing number of international market places. Based in Basingstoke with staff and operations across several international sites, this SME has a track record of growth, penetration into new markets and is becoming a challenger against much larger, incumbent competition. Our Client's success is based on a fast-moving and dynamic approach combined with an aggressive and ambitious product development pipeline which has quickly met and is now exceeding other market offerings.

They are now looking for a Product Marketing Specialist To become a product matter expert. Working alongside all other business areas to assimilate detailed information in to concise, coherent templates to support bids and tenders. To articulate the value proposition of the Company's product and services in relation to the needs of our clients and prospect opportunities. To monitor and identify key tenders for the direct sales team in the UK and wider distribution network across EMEA and the USA alongside maintaining competitor analysis.

Key responsibilities:

  • To work with all stakeholders to gain the necessary information and understanding to become the product matter expert. This includes direct contact with our CEO;
  • To monitor and manage all framework listings and tender submissions;
  • Assimilate and refine detailed information to develop tender document templates from for approval;
  • Complete tender submissions using the templates created;
  • To maintain accurate intelligence in a coherent way on competition and provide feedback on this to the organisation and reflect it in tender template material;
  • To attend and participate in product design meetings as appropriate;
  • Working with the Sales team to develop a catalogue;
  • Develop, manage and audit the bid library, ensuring the overall quality of documentation that supports the bid process (e.g. information, templates, images, case studies);
  • Support in the development of presentation deck that articulates the value proposition of the Company's products and services;
  • Develop clear and well written proposals;
  • Understand customer requirements to develop win themes, value propositions and differentiators;
  • Work in partnership with internal teams in ensuring that all bids are responded to accurately, efficiently and in a timebound manner that delivers the best value proposition of the opportunity and the Company;
  • Provide insight in to market trends and evolving needs of customers;
  • Work with the design team to gain early understanding of new products such that this is reflected in tender and other marcoms material.

Requirements:

Essential:

Proven experience as a product matter expert;

  • Sales and marketing experience;
  • Technical, clinical or engineering background with experience in medical devices;
  • Ability to write comprehensive accurate proposal materials supporting tender submissions;
  • Confident and articulate communicator;
  • Excellent organisational skills;
  • A self-starter with the ability to work autonomously;
  • Accuracy and attention to detail;
  • Strong relationship-builder within the team and across the wider organisation;
  • Ability to demonstrate pro-activity and evidence of continuous improvement;
  • Strong internal drive and motivation to make a difference and add value to an organisation;
  • Competent in use of Microsoft Office including Excel, Word and PowerPoint

Desirable:

  • Proven capability of delivering winning bids;
  • Experience of managing the bid and tender process in the healthcare sector;
  • Experience of product forecasting;
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics (CRM);
  • Experience of working with a CRM;
  • Educated to degree level in a relevant subject;
  • Experience of MadCap Flare
