We are an owner managed, UK bathroom distributor operating from a large warehouse and office site in Morley, Leeds. The company continues to grow and be profitable during the tough economic climate and a vacancy has arisen for a credit controller to join the accounts team.

Working alongside an existing credit controller and as part of a small finance team, duties to include the following:

  • Taking ownership of half of the sales ledger (approx 500 customers) and being accountable for the collection of debts from those customers
  • Daily posting and allocation of cheques/BACS/cash/card payments received
  • Taking card payments from customers over the telephone and releasing sales orders
  • Chasing debts from customers via telephone/email/letters to ensure debts are collected within required timescales
  • Dealing with and resolving customer queries through liaison with customers, sales reps and other departments within the company
  • Reviewing and releasing held sales orders once payments received from customers
  • Monitoring of customer credit limits
  • General administrative duties as required

We would ideally require applicants to have the following:

  • Previous credit control experience
  • Experience of working in a fast-paced small office environment
  • Good Microsoft Excel/Word/Outlook skills
  • Good, confident telephone manner and confidence to chase customers daily via telephone for payment
