Lead SQL DBA (Database Administrator DBA Service Delivery SQL Server SSIS SSRS PowerShell Agile DevOps Automation MongoDB AWS DBA Finance Banking) required by my banking client in London.
You MUST have the following experience:
- SQL Server Database Administrator (DBA) experience with SQL Server including clustering (Always-On), high-availability and performance tuning
- PowerShell- must have the ability to script from scratch- for the automation of tasks
- SQL Server 2008, 2012
- SSIS and SSRS
The following would be DESIRABLE, not essential:
- SQL data base administration in an Agile environment, working with in-house .NET development teams for script deployment and providing developers with guidance on standards from a DBA perspective
- Experience implementing and encouraging SQL database standards with .NET development teams
- PowerShell DSC
- SQL Server 2016
Role: Lead SQL Database Administrator (DBA) required for a small bank in London. You will join a growing IT department of 100 as one of two SQL Server DBA's maintaining and improving an environment of 50-60 servers. You will work closely with the .NET developers in Agile scrum teams, to create and administer the complex SQL environment behind their in-house built web applications. You will contribute to the department's continued adoption of Continuous Integration, Configuration Management and Automated Deployment for their SQL database environment. This DevOps environment exists already for their Windows Server and IIS applications. Current tools include Puppet, Octopus, PowerShell DSC, Red gate, TeamCity and MS Build.
You will be the lead of the two SQL DBA's. You will spend up to 50% of your role defining and implementing standards for the use of the SQL databases by the development scrum teams. This will require close collaboration with the respective delivery managers.
Upcoming projects include the migration of on-premise clusters to AWS; a data centre move; the creation of clusters for each of the respective application domains; and the migration of servers from SQL 2008/2012 to 2016.
