Business Assurance Technician

Location: King's Lynn

About the company:

Freebridge Community Housing are the largest not for profit housing provider in West Norfolk. We own and manage close to 7,000 homes overall with around half of them being in and around King's Lynn

This is an exciting time to join our expanding business, to grow and develop in a challenging new role. You will need to be able to think independently, confidently and share your point of view, as you assist with the provision of an effective, efficient risk and business assurance culture throughout the Association, including fraud prevention.

Demonstrating an analytical approach, good judgement and teamwork skills, your curiosity will also be key to assisting the Association in managing its risks, as well as meeting relevant regulatory and legal obligations.

You will possess an ability to take on new challenges with flexibility, a willingness to learn, build relationships and to put yourself in others' shoes, while always making a positive impact.

Duties of the Business Assurance Technician:

  • Engaging with management and staff to deliver programmes of work that promote an effective and efficient risk and business assurance culture.
  • Support management on corporate internal control issues, advising managers on how to address identified risks.
  • Working on regulatory issues, including value for money arrangements, identifying new and good practice.
  • Ensuring an effective and comprehensive system of risk management and key controls are implemented and adhered to.
  • Carrying out data analysis and research to promote continuous improvement.
  • Creating analytical products to provide evidence based decisions to management on meeting statutory, legislative, managerial and operational responsibilities.
  • Investigating operational performance enquiries and interpreting and highlighting trends and inconsistencies.

Requirements of the Business Assurance Technician:

  • Be a qualified Accountant, educated to degree level.
  • Have a proactive approach to problem solving and delivering solutions
  • Have proven management or assurance experience with ability to communicate at all levels.
  • Possess strong listening and questioning techniques.
  • Be a self-starter, able to work autonomously
