Product Quality Engineer / Technician

Monday - Friday

Based in Hook, Hampshire, our client is recruiting for an experienced Product Quality Engineer / Technician to provide online technical support, standard operating procedures, assembly tooling and visual aids to their electronics manufacturing factory.

They provide bespoke solutions for the defence, aerospace, automotive, telecoms, medical, satellite and commercial sectors in the UK and around the globe, drawing from their extensive experience to generate superlative performance, gaining a reputation as one of the UK market leaders by consistently achieving high standards.


  • Experience in a similar role in electronics manufacturing is required
  • Degree or equivalent in a relevant engineering discipline is preferred
  • Working knowledge of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and Process Improvement tools & techniques
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages including CAD and Gerber generation software
  • Excellent communication skill and attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and work effectively to deadlines
  • Proactive and flexible approach

As a Product Quality Engineer / Technician your duties will include:

Production processes and quality systems

  • Owning product quality
  • Defining process work instructions & visual aids
  • Being the technical lead for contract reviews / production readiness reviews/build reviews/line support/production queries
  • Carrying out material reviews/concession applications
  • Leading RMA activity / root cause analysis / SCAR support / image capture / feedback
  • Defining process flow lines / throughout management
  • Conducting internal audits
  • Generating First Article Inspection Reports (FAIRs) to AS9102 or equivalent
  • Interacting and liaising with customers

Change management

  • Reviewing concessions / emails / engineering change notes
  • Carrying out process routing amendments
  • Defining rework loops / additional material reviews
  • Reviewing process work instructions
  • Reviewing standard operating procedures
  • Managing and verifying changes to processes and procedures

Continuous improvement

  • Processing capability analysis and effectiveness improvements
  • Managing tooling design and integration
  • Utilising Lean Manufacturing techniques and quality tools
  • Leading quality improvement plans
