Cloud Architect and Optimisation Lead ? London - £85,000-£95,000 plus car allowance and excellent benefits

My client a leading consulting firm is looking for a Cloud Architect and Optimisation Lead with a mix of technical and commercial experience to help their clients architect and optimise solutions that leverage the continually evolving range of services from AWS, Azure and Google.


  • Enabling our clients to identity and architect the right mix of IaaS, PaaS and SaaS services offered by AWS, Azure and Google required to deliver new cloud based solutions.
  • Providing deep insight in to their public cloud provider spend through innovative cloud billing analytics tools.
  • Analysing usage and consumption profiles of public cloud resources and providing recommendations on resource optimisation opportunities.
  • Defining and implementing cloud governance policies and frameworks to account for, and control use of public cloud resources.
  • Developing and implementing cost optimisation models that exploit the available commercial levers to ensure our clients can managed their cloud spend to budget and maximise their investment.
  • Supporting the development of our billing analytics and optimisation tooling as well as broader cloud sourcing and optimisation capability.
  • Actively contribute to and support our go-to-market campaigns, thought leadership and sales processes.


  • Enthusiasm and passion for using public cloud services to help clients to develop new innovative services on top of the major public cloud provider platforms and supporting eco-systems.
  • Demonstrable experience of architecting and implementing public cloud solutions on AWS, Azure or Google acting in a technical lead role. You may have one or more professional certifications from one or more of these leading pubic cloud providers.
  • Knowledge and experience of modern architectures (containers / micro services) and the tool-chains required to effectively deploy and manage cloud services at scale
  • Can develop cloud governance policies and frameworks for our clients including account structures, tagging and security good practices.
  • Strong data analytic skills and comfortable working with large data sets covering technical telemetry, billing and usage metrics. Can develop meaningful insight from this data and develop resource and cost optimisation strategies that our clients can understand and implement.
  • Desirable; Strong consulting background and comfortable engaging with senior business and technology stakeholders. You will poses strong presentation and report writing skills.
  • Knowledge and experience using off the shelf cloud cost optimisation tools from providers as well as building custom billing analytics and cost optimising toolsets.
