About the role
Balfour Beatty has an exciting opportunity for a Cable Installation Design Engineer to join our Power Transmission & Distribution business.

Based in Dartford, this role will report into the Professional Excellence Manager and work on one of our projects.

What you'll be doing

As a Cable Installation Design Engineer, you will be responsible for:

* The preparation of designs and drawings for cable supporting steelwork and associated foundations,
* Carrying out loading calculations to prove the adequacy of proposed designs,
* The design of cable installation systems, carrying out pulling tension calculations
* Liaising with fabricators and equipment suppliers.
* Reading Client enquiry specifications and drawings

Who we're looking for
You will have:

* Experience and knowledge of EHV (11kV to 400kV) power systems and equipment.
* Knowledge of substation electrical design
* The ability to interpret engineering drawings and circuit schematics
* An understanding of cable installation techniques
* Experience of working under pressure and to tight deadlines
