A SEMH School based in Oakham are currently seeking enthusiastic Special Needs Teaching Assistants. Based in a stunning country setting, the school offers a therapeutic approach in its teaching and environment. They seek to create an open, inclusive and creative environment where all pupils are supported to achieve qualifications across a wide range of academic and vocational subjects.
YOUR NEW ROLE
As a Special Needs TA you will be working predominately 1:1 or with pupils aged between 7-11 years old who suffer with either Social, Emotional or Mental Health issues. Most of the pupils have an EHCP which would you work to alongside working closely with the class teacher to ensure the pupil is consistently working to positive outcomes.
This role starts immediately; you will be working term time, initially on a temporary contract until December 2017 with a view to becoming a permanent post after a successful probationary period.
WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO SUCCEED
You will be a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for working with children, particularly those with Social, Emotional and/or mental health issues.
A background in Education is not a necessity but you will have experience working with children, ideally those with challenging behaviour, Autism, ADHD, Asperger's, Mental Health issues and/or social & emotional issues.
