Principal Transport Planner
After opening 2 new offices in the last year, and continual growth across all sectors an opportunity has arisen for a Principal Transport Planner to join our client's flagship offices in Central London.
This is a new role that has come about due to the growth in the business, with an experienced Transport professional required with experience in Planning and Policy in ideally both public and private sectors.
As the successful Principal Planner you will be tasked with leading on projects, building a team and getting involved with other Senior members of staff in financial management too.
The position itself will include, but not be limited to:
·To manage all staff under his / her department / core area effectively and encourage and motivate performance.
·Assume responsibility for financial control, quality and technical input for all assigned projects.
·Develop new initiatives and pursue opportunities through business development activities that will raise personal and company profile
·The role also involves the day to day supervision and management of managerial and technical staff and the co-ordination and direction of staff and projects where other design teams are involved
·Project managing / directing projects in accordance with Client requirements
·Ensure all project files are up to date and comply with the QA system.
·Ensure all new jobs are set up on internal systems and monitor weekly information provided against key indicators.
·Contribute to the management of the Transportation Team.
·Manage client relationships and ensuring that their needs are met
Our ideal candidate will have but not limited to:
·Relevant Degree or equivalent
·A minimum of 7 year's relevant experience
·Membership of a professional institution (e.g. MILT, MICE or MCIHT)
·Alternative consideration given to significant relevant experience in lieu of specified education and professional qualification.
·Comprehensive understanding of traffic and transportation techniques, highway design and transport planning principles and a proven track record in project design and delivery;
·Good project management skills;
·Preferably conversant with and/or intermediate user of CAD design software;
