Forward Role are working with a leading retailer seeking a Senior Online Trading Manager who will be the day to day owner of the online trading offer and objectives. This role is responsible for the driving sales, profits, margin and market share in line with the dynamics of the online investment case.

Accountabilities:

- Optimise customer experience by identifying and prioritising improvements across marketing, trading, search and webshop
- Review customer feedback to ensure issues are identified and resolved in a timely manner, standards are consistently met and learnings are factored into process improvement. Lead search and taxonomy enhancements to make the offer easy to shop

- Champion the online customer to all Trading categories driving engagement and innovation

- Lead, motivate and develop your team members to create an effective working environment, strong colleague engagement and a consistently high performing and capable team

- Generate customer insights to support quality decision making

- Provide assurance that trading data - range, price, promo - is entered timely, is accurate, clear and complete

- Control the adherence to standards and maintenance across your areas to ensure the best customer journey

- Ensure that content relating to all products listed is accurate, clear, complete and legal. Manage product lifecycles online

- Manage the execution of events ensuring a consistent approach across all channels with clear governance and guidelines

- Develop Online offer to deliver all elements of the Online business plan, taking into account operational limits and targets

- Deliver the Online P&L (sales, average item price and margin) through ensuring the Online Traders understand their categories, manage range appropriately, trade planning effectively and manage end to end costs

- Forecast business outcomes for average price and volume to aid other functions to plan resource and submit accurate outturn

- Manage suppliers to achieve long term direction and the grow support for the online channel

Role-specific knowledge, skills and experience:

- Deep understanding of retail business and processes. Good mix of Online understanding and trading experience in retail, with strong focus on customer-focused outcomes
- Broad commercial acumen including digital business experience if possible, or a passion for online
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong influencing skill
- Demonstrable experience of highly effective stakeholder management during period of business change
- Ability to work effectively across the business at all levels with sensitivity, and strong teamwork with categories
- High Potential Leader including the capability to deliver excellent coaching and feedback
- Experience as a Senior Manager or a comparable level of operational experience, Experience of process and project management. The ability to create and execute and deliver a strategic plan for the long term (up to 3 years)
- The ability to use financial analysis and customer data to deliver business plan, which delivers increased brand perception and profit
