English Graduate Teaching Assistant - If you have considered a career in teaching but do not yet feel confident enough to step to the front of the class, then this could be the ideal role for you.

This fun and exciting secondary school is an expanding facility that is part forward thinking school and part building site at the moment. A new sixth form centre will open in September 2018 and take the capacity of the school to 1400 pupils.

As an English teaching assistant you will have a number of responsibilities. Firstly, you will be supporting the qualified English teachers n any way possible. This can be ion class, I planning meetings and even minor clerical work as and when required. You will also have an exposure to the learning process and understand how work is differentiated for pupils of different abilities.

You will support learners who need additional help and manage basic literacy workshops for pupils who are below expectations. Before jumping into this responsibility you will be given training to developing workshops and interventions.

The school is keen to retain the charm and reputation as it expands and always aims to offer pupils that chance to shine in all endeavours. The school is keen proponent of extracurricular and there are ample groups and teams that you can get involved in. The school is particularly interested in any Duke of Edinburgh help - there is an expansion of activities, trips and quests for this school year.
