We currently have an exciting opportunity as a Statutory Reporting Manager within the Finance Department based in London. In joining this team you will play an important role in the delivery of high quality statutory reporting to both internal and external stakeholders.

The Team is mainly responsible for preparation of the Annual Reports, Half-Yearly Financial Reports, and internal quarterly statutory financial reporting for Santander UK Group Holdings plc, Santander UK plc and Abbey National Treasury Services plc. They work closely with other areas of Finance (including Group Reporting, Management Information, Regulatory Reporting, and Tax), Risk, Investor Relations, Funding and Legal & Secretariat, as well as the external auditors and legal counsel.

As a Statutory Reporting Manager, your main responsibilities will be:

- Managing and coordinating the production of significant elements of the Risk Review within the Annual Reports and Half-Yearly Financial Reports, a key part of the statutory reporting process.
- Reviewing and feeding back on the quality of data submissions from providers of information.
- Reviewing existing disclosures, benchmarking against other banks and dealing with structural and technical updates driven by business and regulatory changes
- Managing and coordinating the production of significant elements of the IFRS accounting judgements process.
- Liaising with senior internal and external stakeholders to ensure that requests are addressed and delivered in a timely manner, including escalating issues as necessary.
- Reviewing the efficiency of processes to recommend improvements.
- Providing accounting support for debt issuances out of various entities and programmes.
- Managing, coaching and mentoring more junior members of the team, as well as contractors, Finance support staff and interns.

What we'll be looking for in you:

- A qualified statutory accountant (preferably ACCA or ACA) or equivalent experience
- Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills. The role requires the successful candidate to build strong working relationships across the business and externally, to ensure receipt of high quality data on a timely basis. It also requires regular senior stakeholder interaction to ensure more structural and technical queries are addressed and resolved in a timely manner.
- Strong IFRS and UK financial reporting experience, including practical exposure to IFRS in terms of preparing complex statutory accounts and accounting papers. The successful candidate should also have experience of the UK public company reporting environment.
- Ability to manage work to strict deadlines, being a self-starter and with attention to detail and persistence.
- Ability to be flexible in approach and working hours
