Rate: Up to £50,000 per year

The Role:

*The CAD/PLM Administrator / Engineer will support engineering tools and process to collaborate with internal and external customer via the use of Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Computer Aided Design (CAD)

Key responsibilities

*Installation, Configuration, and support of various CAD environments, including CATIA V5/V6, Solid Edge, ICEM, ALIAS, etc.

*Support Engineering Tools and Process for PDM / PLM systems, like Teamcenter, Enovia, etc.

*Support customizations and configurations to existing and emerging systems

*Data migration, including import, export, and data mapping ? directly deal with clients with regard to capturing requirements for current and upcoming project data needs.

*Provide applications support to IT team members

*Collaborate with team members, customers and other support resources to address and close helpdesk tickets related to PLM Systems. Provide user support/ training for PLM and PDM systems

*Document and create Work Instructions for use of engineering tools

*Seek, evaluate, and compare appropriate new software; build and deliver business cases to purchase and deploy new software

*Directly deal with suppliers of Software vendors/re-sellers with regards to obtaining and checking competitive quotes

*Develop documentation associated with requirements, design, and system configuration

*Develop and maintain documentation associated with reference to Configure, monitor, and report on license usage, create metrics and usage projections

*Develop and maintain documentation associated with CAD Best Practices, process improvements that impact engineering, including drawing standards and workspace/data management

*Identify and lead process automation tasks to streamline product development activities

*Identify and implement performance improvements within the systems

*Evaluate new tools/technologies for incorporation into the existing product development process to determine impact on existing system configurations

*Provide recommendations to management resulting in purchases and installation of hardware, software and equipment that will support current or future business needs

*Represent the organization in external user groups associated with the CAD applications

Required Qualifications and Experience:

*Degree in engineering, IT or equivalent qualification

*Demonstrated Experience in a similar role

*Excellent knowledge of CAD and PDM / PLM tools

*Strong communication and technical skills with the ability to quickly grasp technical issues/concepts

*basic programming skills such as VBA or Java Scripting

*Knowledge of CAM application software would be added benefit.

*Excellent IT skills

*Commercial awareness

*excellent listening and questioning skills, combined with the ability to interact confidently with clients to establish what the problem is and explain the solution

*the ability to prioritise your workload;

*flexibility and adaptability to juggle a range of different tasks and to work extra hours to meet deadline

*The ability to succeed in a demanding role.

-If you are a permanent employee, this will be paid as a salary bonus

-Payment is due only after a placed contractor has completed 26 weeks of the contract

-Payment is due only after a placed permanent employee passes the probation and rebate period

-Payment is only due on initial placement ? further placements are excluded
