Maths Teaching Assistant / Mathematics Academic Mentor

- Secondary & Sixth Forms
- Perfect PGCE/School Direct experience
- Monday-Friday full time position
- Earn between £60 and £65 per day
To be successful in this role, you will ideally have some previous experience working with children, but not necessarily in a school. You must hold at least a 2:1 in your degree. You should be a patient and enthusiastic person who is committed to raising aspirations and confidence around maths. An ideal candidate is an ambitious graduate who can empathise with their students, and understands that not everybody has the same confidence when tackling this tricky subject. This school are looking for graduates who aren't afraid to go out their comfort zone and get really involved with lesson planning. Once you become more confident with your surroundings and the students, you will have the opportunity to take your own classes and lead with your own planning and resources.
From day one, you will be supported by a visionary and dedicated Senior Leadership Team and Maths Department. You will be working to develop your ability as a teacher, as well as a mentor in some cases. With the help of the school's training and development plan, this could really be the perfect starting point for your teaching career!
