To work in a supported learning environment to develop the skills and knowledge which will assist the apprentice to complete their qualification and secure employment and progress their career in the future.

You will be trained and mentored to be a Test Engineer within the Software / Test Team.

The Software Test Engineer role plays an important part in our company's product development process. You will be responsible for conducting test before product launches to ensure software runs smoothly. Ultimately you should monitor all stages of software development to identify and resolve any quality standard issues.

Responsibilities include designing and implementing tests, debugging and defining corrective actions. Supporting test automation creation, design and maintenance. You will also track quality assurance metrics.

Key Responsibilities:

Required Skills:

Prior software testing experience is ideal, but not mandatory, and a hard-working and methodical work ethic is of high importance.

We are looking for someone who will quickly adapt to our current testing procedures; is really keen to learn and willing to take on new challenges

  • Time and workload management skills.
  • Excellent organisational, communication and people skills.
  • Be computer literate with experience in scripting / programming and have a passion for technology.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Able to take a methodical and logical approach to work.
  • Ability to learn quickly and work within a rapid development environment.
  • Desire and creativity to push the limits of a product and search for faults.
  • A Levels at grade C or above in either Computing, Electronics and /or a numerate subject.
  • Experience in MS Office and familiarity with more than one operating system (Windows, Linux, MacOS).

Qualifications:

  • 3 x GCSE (or equivalent) at grades A-C in any subject plus GCSE English and Maths (or equivalents) at grade D or above

Additional Information:

  • Monday - Friday, 8.30am to 17.30pm
  • Competitive salary - from £200 per week upwards depending on skills and experience
