Graduate Secondary Mentor
- Must have a minimum of a 2:1 degree
- Experience working with young people desirable
- Paid £60-£65 a day
- Walsall area, easily accessible from Birmingham City Centre

About the Role:
You will be allocated a small group of students who you will assist and support them through the year both academically and with personal, social or emotional difficulties. You will primarily be working in KS4 and KS5, but an element of flexibility is required. You will need to be a positive role model for these pupils to raise their aspirations, confidence and self-esteem, not only academically but personally too. Additionally, you will liaise and work collaboratively with both subject specific teachers and within cross-curricular activities, ensuring students receive the support they need both inside and outside of the classroom. You will be responsible for organising 1:1 and group activities, both educational and to support personal development.
To be successful in this role, you will need to be able to effectively communicate with a variety of people from various age groups, backgrounds and cultures. You will need to be highly organised and be able to communicate to a high standard in both a written and verbal context as you will be required to liaise with students, parents and colleagues, as well as keep up-to-date records of progress and achievement. You will need to have a strong academic background, ideally a 2:1 from a Russell Group University, with high A level achievements. You will need to be an aspiring teacher or educational psychologist and looking to gain paid experience prior to this.
