So about the job?.
Xtrac are recruiting for a Calibration Engineer to manage the company calibration system as well as providing additional inspection cover when needed. Day to day you will work closely with external calibration providers to source on-site and off-site calibration services, liaising with all manufacturing departmental managers to ensure equipment is available for calibration at the correct time.
You will be expected to maintain and update the internal calibration database to reflect the calibration status of all equipment, logging all newly acquired equipment on to the database, assigning serial numbers and arrange for etching (or other identification) as necessary.
You will be responsible for physically identifying ownership and calibration status of all equipment, ensuring you scan and store any paper based calibration certificates. Ensuring you liaise with QM / Purchasing to replace or repair equipment in the case of a calibration failure, as well as performing audits of shop floor for calibrated equipment.
What we need from you?.
Experience working within a manufacturing environment with an appreciation for measuring equipment is essential. Ideally you will be educated to BTEC or equivalent level in Mechanical Engineering although this is not essential.
We work within a faced pace industry so the ability to remain calm under pressure is important and the ability to work quickly but accurately to tight deadlines is a necessity.
