The ideal candidate for this Humanities Graduate Teaching assistant position must have graduated from a Russell Group or Oxbridge university and have achieved a 2:1 or higher in their Geography or History degree. You will preferably have previous experience working with young people or perhaps GCSE and A-level tutoring where you can use the skills you learnt in these roles in a teaching assistant position.
In this role you will be working primarily with KS3 and GCSE students who are potentially behind their expected levels or on the critical C/D grade boundary. You will be responsible for holding interventions for pupils in either small groups or on a 1:1 basis both inside and outside of normal class time. You must have excellent communication and motivational skills to ensure all students do achieve their full potential.
This Sheffield secondary school has recently undergone an Ofsted inspection and moved from 'Good' to 'Outstanding' in some areas including behaviour standards. The school has a group of excellent teachers who allow all students to flourish in their GCSE exams. They also have an excellent reputation within the area for working with graduates and developing them into 'outstanding' teachers.
