Graduate 1:1 Teaching Assistant

This Year 1 child is looking for a consistent and friendly face to work with her on a 1:1 basis in the classroom. Somebody that will give her the support and guidance she needs to thrive in school. You will need to be patient and resilient when dealing with potential challenging behaviour, but also need to have and understanding of the importance of structure to a child who is vulnerable. You will need to have a minimum of a 2:1 degree and be able to demonstrate some experience working with children with additional needs. You will be enthusiastic and positive and want to make the most of every day.
About the Role:
This role will involve you working with a Year 1 LAC (Looked After Child) child. You will be working with her in the classroom, assisting the teacher to deliver lessons and strategies and supporting her during 1:1 interventions. You will be required to build a strong and trusting relationship with her, in both an educational and pastoral context. At times, the role will be challenging in terms of behaviour and understanding, however if you are able to persevere and see a value in your role for this child, then this could be for you!
