Person specification - Maths Teaching Assistant

This superb school is looking for a bright Maths graduate who can bring energy and excitement to the classroom. You must have a 2:1 or above degree and a good academic background to match. Good communication skills are of the upmost importance and you must have a genuine passion to support struggling pupils from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds. The ideal person will be an aspiring Maths teacher, hoping to complete teaching training in the near future.

About the role

This position will involve working in the supportive Maths department, with other talented graduates and outstanding teachers to support you along the way. You will utilise your expert subject knowledge by delivering 1:1 or small group intervention sessions for pupils who need that extra push outside of the classroom. This role involves lots of on the job training, so you will be fully exposed to what life is like as a teacher. Over 70% of last year's graduate cohort applied for this schools teacher training programme and will be training with the SCITT this year.
