The Role- Special Needs Teaching Assistant

The ideal Special Needs Teaching Assistant will ideally have previous experience supporting children or adults with complex needs, and also be willing to do personal care. As an SEN Teaching Assistant, you will need to be resilient, enthusiastic and have a positive attitude. Due to the varied needs in the classroom, it would be advantageous if you had experience or training in communicating through PEC's or Makaton etc.

The School- Special Needs Teaching Assistant

This SEN School is based in the London Borough of Wandsworth and caters to the needs of children from the ages of 11-19. The pupils suffer with moderate learning difficulties, autistic spectrum disorder and speech, language and communication difficulties. Meeting the needs of the students is the schools main focus, and they have a curriculum that suits a multitude of needs and personalities. They offer a wide range of accreditations from G.C.SE, Functional Skills, BTECS etc. They offer a harmonious environment between teacher and pupils and excellent facilities.
