EAL Teaching Assistant - Primary School - Leicester
Are you looking to take the first steps towards a career into education and have previous experience of teaching English in the UK or abroad?
Do you feel you possess the ability to make positive impacts on the lives of children who have English as an additional language?
International students across the UK will now be into their first few weeks of the new term and may need additional support with EAL. Could you be the ideal support for these children?
- Graduate EAL Teaching Assistant
- Minimum 2:1 degree
- Paid £300 per week
- Ongoing training and support
- Nurturing, cohesive primary school
- Excellent location - Leicester
If you are looking to take the first steps towards a career into education and have previous experience of teaching English in the UK or abroad to those who have EAL, then this role could be the one for you.
As an EAL Teaching Assistant you will gain an insight in to what it takes to become an outstanding teacher: equipping you with the skills to pursue teaching in the next academic year. You will be breaking down barriers to learning using a range of EAL strategies and helping them to integrate and settle into their new class. You must be a high-achieving and enthusiastic graduate who is confident and adaptable in your new role with these young learners.
You will be fully supported by the teaching team; equipping you with the strategies and provision needed to run intervention lessons in core subjects. Furthermore you will be running extra nurture sessions to enable the children to be more confident working within the classroom.
You will need to have a minimum of a 2:1 degree, preferably from a Russell Group university, with strong A Levels. Ideally you will have some transferable EAL experience in education; not necessarily classroom based.
If you are an ambitious graduate who has a passion for languages and a desire to secure a role within education supporting young learners to grasp English as an additional language then email your CV to Emma at i-teachers today.
