Modern Foreign Languages Learning Mentor - About the role:

You will be based in the languages department of a large and innovative school, assisting with language classes and other activities within the department. As you become more confident and gain a better understanding of the needs of the school and curriculum, you will have the opportunity to broaden your experience by planning and leading your own group sessions and classes. Alongside gaining this experience, you will have access to fantastic facilities and resources, as well as a supportive, tailored training programme to help you to progress in your teaching career. The role will mainly be working with GCSE and A Level pupils who need support with their grammar, punctuation or just a little bit of encouragement speaking.

You will need to be able to communicate effectively to a wide range of pupils of various abilities and backgrounds. You will also need to have an excellent working knowledge of the language and be qualified to a minimum of a 2:1. It is desirable that you have some experience with children or young people in any voluntary or work setting, but if you have an excellent academic background, we will consider your application. You will need to be patient and encouraging, in order to get the best out of your students. You will need to me motivated and dynamic to engage a wide range of students from lower ability, to higher ability.
