As Packaging Design Engineer reporting to our clients Logistics Development Manager, you’ll be responsible for developing a range of packaging and palletisation to support the safe movement and handling of products throughout the supply chain. As the subject matter expert (SME) working closely with, and providing expert advice to, the product design teams, suppliers, transport and warehousing teams, you’ll develop new packaging concepts that meet our end-to-end business needs. In addition to influencing management and manage operatives and contractors, other key accountabilities as Packaging Design Engineer include:

• engaging at multi-levels within the business, from project lead, via SME to ad hoc support
• leading or contributing to projects at various levels from day-to-day, through incremental change, to large-scale step changes
• through packaging design initiatives, influencing supply chain costs and service to the extent of six/seven figure sums.

Ideally qualified at least to HNC level in product or graphic design, you have an extensive track record in packaging design, underpinned by sound business acumen and the ability to ensure that our Logistics Development Team meets both strategic and day-to-day business needs. Highly creative and organised, with excellent problem-solving skills and strong attention to detail, you have experience of multi-site supply chain operations and the ability to manage and develop internal and external relationships. A great planner and organiser with first-class presentation, communication and influencing skills, you also have:

• strong analytical skills
• exceptional MS Office skills
• the ability to travel to support projects across the UK.
