Deputy Financial Controller, Marketing, £75,000

Our client, a Central London Advertising agency is looking to recruit a Deputy FC to join their EMEA Finance function. This role supports the Regional Finance Controller and the regional management and will work with the finance teams across EMEA, helping to develop and maintain first class finance function. The main objectives are to ensure timely and accurately group financial reporting, insightful analysis, timely and relevant management information, provide training to local markets in the areas of group reporting, management accounting and SOX compliance.


  • Review and ownership of the EMEA Regional P&L (around 60 offices)
  • In charge of the Group Finance Reporting of EMEA
  • Provide training and guidance to the regional finance team
  • Direct oversight of the group reporting of key EMEA markets (around 10 direct offices)
  • Produce management reports and presentations
  • Provide ad hoc information for regional management
  • In charge of the of the SOX compliance of the regional finance team
  • Ensure the statutory accounts of all entities are finalised and reconciled. Work with the group auditors (Deloitte) and Opco’s CFO’s
  • Key role in training of local offices in group reporting as well as management accounting
  • Key role in integration of new companies
  • Client finance
  • Built in-depth knowledge of the markets including business issues and perform risk-based financial analysis
  • Perform a number of SOX and special audits of Opco’s

Skill set

  • Qualified ACA / CIMA / ACCA, 6 years post-qualification experience
  • Experience in controllership position in large international organisation and/or audit background
  • Proficient accounting experience in IFRS , management accounting and analytical review, system & processes review
  • Other European languages will be an advantage
  • Advanced excel skills (ability to write macros will be strong advantage)
  • Experience in compliance auditing/SOX
  • Use of a consolidation tool
  • Proven ability to form strong relationships. Experience in leading/supporting teams.
