The main purpose of the Finance team is to ensure an effective process with our suppliers and customers, ensuring good communication to manage customer and supplier expectations and to ensure that costs and potential financial risks are recognised in a timely fashion, together with reconciliation of control accounts and adhoc administration and reporting.
Our client is a growing business based in Horsham looking to add an Assistant Accountant to their exisitng team. This candidate must have good Excel skills.
The timely and accurate processing of supplier/customer reports including POS, Sales, SMART, Stock, Freight and Courier, Margin, Budget, Stop Spender, Regional, Statistics, NCR/FOC, Competitor Analysis, Pricing, Mass Buy Reports and Promotions. This list is not exhaustive and will include other adhoc reporting.
Preparation of Financial and Management reporting. Preparation and delivery of Obligatory reporting to HMRC in respect of Importing & Exporting of Goods.
Preparing and liaising with Managers regarding supplier and customer rebates. The timely and accurate processing of supplier/customer invoices, credit notes, payments and any other authorised transaction into the accounts payable/receivable ledger. Reconciliation and maintenance of Control Accounts. Resolving internal issues regarding customer invoices such as pricing, incorrect goods etc.
Assisting with month-end procedures in reporting financial data monthly, quarterly or annually. Assisting the Line Manager in recording and analysing inventory data, vendor payments, accounts payable/receivable balances and shipment activities. Manage and communicate Service Level Agreements (SLA). The preparation of period-end payables reports. ISO, H&S, Risk Assessment Administration and control. General assistance to the Finance/Operations team and MD Ad hoc duties as required. A Level Maths and English (A-C Grade of Above) or equivalent
Experience of accounts payable
Experience of double entry book-keeping
Understanding and appreciation purchase, sales costing and general ledgers
Understanding and appreciation of Basic sales principles
Experience and appreciation of computerised business systems
Excellent skills in Microsoft Office
Excellent attention to detail, quality and accuracy
Ability to work as part of a team
AAT qualification or similar
£25,000 - £30,000 + benefits
