Permanent English Teacher vacancy commencing in January 2018 at Lostock Hall Academy

To build on recent examination success, Lostock Hall Academy is seeking to appoint an 'outstanding' teacher of English to join a highly successful dynamic team of experienced English teachers.

Working within a growth mindset ethos, the English team is passionate about teaching and learning. The team prides itself on high expectations for all students, believing that a belief in students shapes futures. Consequently, for the past three years, English results have far exceeded national figures.

To complement the skills and expertise of the English team, the academy is seeking to appoint an ambitious teacher of English, who has knowledge and experience of teaching the reformed GCSEs to a high standard.

Successful candidates will:

  • Be confident in teaching to grade 7-9 of the new GCSE standards
  • Have outstanding subject knowledge in GCSE Language and Literature
  • Be an excellent classroom practitioner
  • Have experience of achieving more than expected progress with students
  • Be fastidious, analytical and proactive in using assessment data to inform teaching
  • Believe in the potential and growth of all students
  • Be passionate about teaching and learning and willing to innovate strategies to secure progress for all
  • Be creative, persistent and resilient in supporting students
  • Be committed to developing enrichment opportunities for students.
