MERJE Ltd have been instructed to a recruit a high profile Assistant Financial Controller role for a high growth and acquisitive private equity backed business based in Preston Lancashire with plans for significant growth giving genuine opportunity for long-term career progression within a highly regarded finance team. Reporting into the Head of Finance, this role would suit either a high performing 1st time mover from a top 10 firm or ideally a 2nd time mover looking for real scope and autonomy.

Key Assistant Financial Controller Duties:

§You will be responsible for preparation of monthly management accounts for several group companies, providing insight into fluctuations versus budget and prior year.

§Assisting the Head of Finance and Finance Director with the preparation of group financial statements, interim accounts and subsidiary statutory accounts.

§Produce monthly group consolidation and cash flow reports and working capital analysis

§You will provide associated commentaries and bringing them to life whilst keeping all key stakeholders informed.

§Management of the team Finance Analyst and establishment of purchase ledger processes and cash flow reporting.

§Supporting the Head of Finance as owner of the period close process.

§Providing actionable insight identifying improvements in day-to-day processes.

§Preparation of group VAT returns.

Assistant Financial Controller Profile:

§Qualified ACA/ACCA (or equivalent) ideally from a top 10 accountancy firm and technically proficient

§This role will also suit either a high performing 1st time mover or ideally a strong 2nd time mover ‘looking for that next step’

§You will be able to communicate with real confidence and flair across all levels and also able to influence senior stakeholders, both verbal and written

    Strong Excel and Word skills, comfortable working with large and / or complex budget models
§Driven and confident individual with a ‘can-do’ attitude
