Position Type: Employed Location: Berkshire, United Kingdom Hermes Logistics Technologies Ltd (HLT) Hermes is a real-time air Cargo Management System for Ground Handlers, Airlines and Airports and is the main product delivered by HLT. The Hermes system currently supports around 70 facilities globally each with cargo volumes ranging between 20,000 to 1.5 million metric tons per annum. HLT also provides a Business Intelligence product called HBI to accompany the main Hermes Cargo Management Solution. We are looking for a versatile IT Specialist to join our team. The main Development & Technical team is based in Israel with the 'Cargo' team and remaining development team based in Berkshire. This role will be an important addition to the UK team working alongside developers and Cargo professionals in the UK and liaising with the Israel team. You must be able to travel anywhere in the world, including Israel. Our customers are located from Europe to the Far East, and cross all cultures. The Cargo Team is made up of professionals from all areas of the Air Cargo Industry. Their role is to drive the direction of the system to ensure it provides the Customer Warehouse with all the tools they require in turn to provide the accounts and management teams all the information they require to run a more efficient business. This will be a demanding and exciting role for someone who thrives on the technical side of life, but enjoys a customer facing role. Experience and ability is important, but we would favour candidates with the commitment to join a small team dedicated to building our future. You will need to be versatile, adaptable, inventive and patient, but for the right person there is plenty of scope to develop... ============================================================================================== Qualifications / Experience Experience in the air cargo/aviation industry/systems is a bonus, but not essential. Skills (Essential criteria) - Hands-on Citrix installation and administration - Knowledge of LAN/WAN Hardware, Network & Internet Protocols & Technologies: Routers, Switches, DSL/Cable, printers - Active Directory 2008 R2 or above (MCSA 2008 or above is better) in-depth understanding of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, Certificate Services, Managing AD - Knowledge /Hands-on Virus /Malware removal process - Firewalls: Knowledge of Firewall Topologies, Network Segments, Security Rules, Port numbers, VPN's & support - Amazon Web Services: Knowledge in Amazon Web Services - all basic services - S3, VPC, EC2, RDS, Route53, etc.. - Linux: Knowledge of Installation and Maintenance on different Linux distributions (Debian and Red Hat based), maintenance, backups, FTP maintenance - Remote Desktop Services 2008 and above: Understand how-to deploy a new RDS Farm and Maintain the existing RDS farms (knowledge of RDS roles - BROKER, SESSION-HOST, WEB ACCESS, GATEWAY, how to deploy and maintain a certificate and Certificate Services) - Strong incident and Process Management skills - Google Apps - Backup Policies - Hardware knowledge: Server spec, laptops, Disks, routers etc. - Demonstrate experience isolating and resolving problems related to Computers, mobile devices, Windows, Office, Cloud-based applications, Internet Explorer, wireless network connectivity, email systems, printing, and info security issues - Servers: Knowledge in Installation of Server OS - Windows 2003 and above. Knowledge in Windows Server 2012 - Microsoft Windows and Office Suite experiences required, with familiarity of cloud-based messaging/collaboration/communications/productivity/business solution offerings - Proficient with software packages such as MS Excel and MS word - Desktops: Knowledge in deployment of User Desktops and Laptops - Ability to understand basic logical constructs - Team player, able to liaise comfortably with the Cargo & Technical Teams plus customers of all cultures. - VMware vShpere 5 (Virtualization Knowledge) - Understand how-to deploy and maintain a VMware vSphere environment, Cloning, Imaging, Sysprep - Effective communication (verbal and written), interpersonal skills and excellent customer care - Time management (able to manage competing demands). - Keen interest in continuing professional development Skills (Desirable) - Knowledge of Domain Name System (DNS): Address records, name server records, mail exchanger records - Exceptional interpersonal, written and oral skills, with the ability to multi-task whilst being on the phone /working tickets - Computer /Device hardware /software set-up, installation, troubleshooting, upgrades, maintenance and training - IT related procurement, licensing, asset management and audit compliance. - Establish and maintain IT service-related policies, procedures and other user-facing documentation and knowledge Other - Ability to travel anywhere worldwide (essential) - Excellent spoken and written English is essential, other languages a plus - This role is expected to support the 24/7 rota for out-of-hours' emergencies when required. - Problem-solver with the ability to sort through complex issues Job Role, Purpose and Responsibilities (Overview): To assist the Cargo Team with the Technical side of the Hermes products to include (but not limited to) the following areas: 1. System Maintenance and Support Off-site and on-site maintenance and support for customers as per their agreed M&S contract. Duties to include tracking software bugs, controlling priorities to fix highlighted bugs, tracking customer change requests, version release training and day-to-day support. 2. Project Development (Process) Assist with business consultancy through on-site workshops, written and verbal presentation, Webex and/or teleconference, to help design and develop process changes and maintain customer confidence in these changes. 3. Project Development (Software) Liaise with development team to ensure that product development matches customer requirements and agreed business study detail. Assist development team with end user interface design, logical techniques, software testing and system to system interface procedures. 4. System Training Aid the implementation of IT training courses for international end-users to include classroom sessions, workshops, tutorials and other interactive tasks. Assist completion of full system user guides and other related training material. 5. Business Study Activities Assist with analysis of customer IT needs with the aim of correlating these needs with current HERMES system functionality. Written business study follows analysis to include detail on IT requirements. 6. System Implementations 'Parallel Run' and 'Go Live' support within 24/7 business environments to guarantee data quality, increase customer confidence, ensure process and system changeover efficiency. Main aims to limit possibility of revenue loss through change procedures and to ensure smoothness of system and procedural integration.
