This UK manufacturing organisation now requires an experienced Financial and Reporting Controls Accountant to develop and implement a best practice internal control framework covering financial, system and data management controls. The Role: As the Financial and Reporting Controls Accountant you will be working with the business units to standardise controls and processes and where possible identifying inefficiencies in current working practices. Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, providing a supportive role in the acquisition and integration of companies from a financial reporting and controls perspective, whilst giving ad hoc support in broad range of financial reporting matters across the wider UK business. You will promote a strong risk management and compliance culture to ensure best practice and regulatory standards are met and exceeded. The Candidate: Ideally of graduate standard, from within a finance or business based discipline, candidates will also have successfully completed a further accountancy qualification (i.e. ACA, ACCA). In addition, candidates should also be willing to demonstrate: - a significant amount of technical experience, preferably from within an audit background - experience of mapping and assessing business processes and controls - the ability to design and implement financial and data management control processes - experience of financial accounting and reporting (IFRS and new UK GAAP) - a high proficiency in software applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint - a strong understanding of finance systems and UK Corporate and financial reporting issues For this role, you should be an organised, confident and pro-active individual with a professional outlook and a positive, "can-do" attitude. Used to multi-tasking, you will require excellent project management skills and the ability to prioritise your workload so as to meet required deadlines. Able to work as part of a team or under your own initiative, you should be an excellent communicator who can be flexible and thrives in a fast-paced, challenging environment. Candidates should note that there will be travel throughout the UK with this role and from time to time overseas.
