Our client is seeking a Web Merchandising Assistant to join their busy E-Commerce Team

Working with the Ecommerce manager, you will assist the department with trading and optimising their categories. You will become an expert in new product positioning, category groupings, navigation, sort orders, onsite product search, product upload and general web administration.

In this new role, you will also ensure effective and logical product presentation with added value content including videos, buyer guides and images. At all times, you will ensure optimised user experience to help deliver the maximum possible amount of sales.

As Web Merchandising Assistant, your main responsibilities will be:

  • Spotting opportunities to increase sales of lines across all categories such as influencing promotional activity in line with communications plan, missing data and assets, inconsistent product sort orders and suggest and implement changes in line with seasonality and trends
  • Understanding site analytics to help identify how placement and presentation decisions impact conversions, basket size and sales
  • Assisting the Ecommerce manager to locate products correctly on the web, setting ground rules / style sheets for differing product areas, implementing consistent grouping, naming conventions and presentation
  • Ensuring you have a firm grasp of product category and brands and sales performance, researching and monitoring competitor behaviour and staying ahead of the market
  • Working with the web content person to share terms that may not be used on the site for improved SEO and keyword ranking
  • Driving for targeted results across all categories and sites
  • Working closely with our out sourced digital marketing company
  • Support the preparation and delivery of presentation and website report writing
  • Assist with other marketing activities when required (image/video editing for example)
  • Adding new products onto the company websites, gathering specification and technical information of the products and uploading all relevant information to the stock management system

To apply for this role your experience and skills should include:

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills
  • Previous marketing/ merchandising (retail or digital) experience
  • Knowledge of HTML is desirable
  • Detailed knowledge of content management systems. Magento 1 & 2 and WordPress
  • The ability to interpret and analyse data
  • Understanding of stock management systems is desirable
  • Ability to multitask and keep up with a multitude of projects
  • Basic understanding of Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop or another industry standard)
  • Basic understanding of Google Analytics to track and report on key metrics
