Product Manager £55,000 - £65,000 Company Car 15% Bous Pension, Home office and other benefits SF Group is working together on a retained basis for a global leading manufacturer of sealing and polymer technology. This business has manufacturing sites in the United Kingdom, Europe and the United states and employs over 30 people in the UK alone. They design, develop and manufacture high performance moulded rubber seals, gaskets and elastomer components for industries across the globe. Thy have recently acquired further businesses within the group of manufacturing business across the globe and now look to add to the existing senior team in the North West of England. The role of product Manager is to direct product plans across the business including marketing and pricing for products and value added services with concentrating on industrial market segments which include the likes of food & beverage, pharmaceutical, power, CPI, marine, biomedical direct to end users and OEM's while also managing distribution and agent channels. The primary objective of this position is to maximize revenue and margin generated by such markets by working with sales channels to understand the market dynamics and drive penetration. Essential Functions *Maintains an understanding of the macro economic trends, competitive trends and specific dynamics in Industrial markets for all geographies segments which are relevant to. *Builds a detailed understanding of customer requirements (both OEM customers and end user customers) in Industrial market segments. *Uses market size and growth data by geography, by market segment and by customer type to develop, communicate and execute strategy for growing Industrial market business with maximum profitability. *Provides direction and input on specifications related to products, services, packaging, kits, specific labeling requirements and any other value added services which will facilitate achieving maximum sales penetration and margins in global aftermarkets. *Works closely with materials, technical and operations functions along with identified third party suppliers to develop and industrialise products and services which are specific to Industrial markets. Ensures that such products meet market requirements and variants as needed in different market segments (e.g. Marine diesel, Pharma, Food, aerospace engines, rotating equipment etc.) *Works closely with marketing and sales teams to launch, promote and sell products and value-added services which are targeted at global Industrial markets. *Works with sales leadership to set and roll out global pricing structures and price lists for Industrial market products and services. *Builds customer relationships, assists in sales visits, make presentations, helps negotiate agreements and contracts. *Uses forecasting processes and tools to provide operations and business leadership with the best possible forward visibility of order intake forecasts from Industrial Market sales channels. *Works with regional business managers to set best practice for value selling, sales processes and use of tools such as ************* in the context of selling aftermarket products and services. Key Criteria: *Experience creating strategies for technical products for global markets. Such products could include seals, polymers, gaskets, o-rings, advanced materials or other technical products such as pumps, valves, compressors, hydraulics, pneumatics, filtration or other products. *Proven track record in product management, market development, business development, key account management. Other positions you may come from include sales director, national sales manager, head of sales *Confident and credible when working with internal and external groups at all levels. Able to use their knowledge and credibility to influence individuals and teams to achieve the desired outcomes. *Willing to travel (around 20-25%) to attend meetings, work with global sales teams, visit customers, etc. *Experienced in developing and executing product, marketing and sales strategies for a focused product line. *Ideally experienced in working in Industrial market segments serving a technical product field. *MSc, BSc or equivalent in a relevant science or engineering discipline. *MBA would be highly desirable. *5+ years experience working in global markets. *Based in the North West including, Manchester, Liverpool Wigan, Preston, Skipton, Bolton, Blackpool, Blackburn, Lancaster, Burnley and other surrounding areas.
