Lawyer, Pensions (maternity cover)
This is an excellent opportunity for a Pensions Lawyer to make a key contribution to the work of our Company and Financial Project, within the established Strategic Litigation programme. The project uses corporate and financial laws to drive greater integration of climate-related financial risks into the management decisions of influential actors in the financial sector.
You will be responsible for supporting and developing our work on the pensions industry, and in particular, shaping legal strategies to encourage trustees (and others) to consider the financial risks associated with climate change when making investment decisions on behalf of pension fund members.
We are looking for a versatile lawyer with relevant legal experience in a financial services setting, as well as experience with the formal and informal relationships and working practices which pertain to City institutions, financial markets and transactions. You will be required to analyse the relevant legal, policy and political terrain which governs the obligations of pension fund trustees (and others in the investment chain) in order to identify legal interventions to assist the aims of the Company and Financial Project.
This role will be for a fixed-term contract of 6 months to cover the current post-holder during their maternity leave.
The salary for this role is £40,000 per annum.
