Production Executive ( 9 months maternity cover starting Jan 2018 until mid Oct 2018)
Publishing & Design currently have a vacancy within the team to cover a 9 month fixed term contract.
About the role
You will be an important member of our Publishing & Design Team and the wider Digital, Communications Planning and Design Team team, which are responsible for in-house creative work including commissioning, writing and editing for publication; design and print production; and managing the brand across the organisation. You will oversee the traffic management of all AIUK published items from initial proposals to press pass. You will manage the smooth running of the team’s workflow system ensuring all jobs run to deadline and budget.
Experience as a Production or Traffic Manager within a busy, demanding and fast moving publishing environment is highly desirable. However, more important than this is your ability to design and manage systems and to remain calm under pressure in this busy team. You will be involved in a variety of projects for a wide range of internal clients, as well as liaising with external clients, so excellent communication skills, a meticulous attention to detail and a love of systems and processes is essential.
Our aim is simple: an end to human rights abuses. Independent, international and influential, we campaign for justice, freedom and truth wherever they’re denied. Amnesty International is a global movement of more than 7 million people who campaign for a world where human rights are enjoyed by all. Our supporters are outraged by human rights abuses but inspired by hope for a better world - so we work to improve human rights through campaigning and international solidarity. We reach almost every country in the world and have:
• more than 2 million members and supporters who drive forward our fight for rights
• more than 5 million activists who strengthen our calls for justice
Whether we’re applying pressure through powerful research or direct lobbying, mass demonstrations or online campaigning, we’re all inspired by hope for a better world. One where human rights are respected and protected by everyone, everywhere.
