We are currently looking for a Powertrain Research Specialist Engineer to work for a Major Automotive Organisation based in the West Midlands Reference No: J0011076 Job Title: Powertrain Research Specialist Engineer Experience: Good working knowledge in exhaust and after treatment systems: Urea system and SCR catalysts, gasoline or diesel particulate filters Location: West Midlands Rate: From £25.00 to £27.36 per Hour Ltd Co. Hours: 40 Hours Per Week The Role: *Powertrain Research delivers new technologies to support future powertrain requirements. *This role is with the Powertrain Systems Research team who are responsible for the exhaust, air intake, urea, and fuel systems. *This role provides a unique opportunity to be a part of the company's future powertrain development. *Monitoring future powertrain technologies and developments in academia and the industry *Creating new research projects and identifying suitable worldwide external partners (including universities) to collaborate in this work *Project manage research and development activities using suppliers, CAE and design teams, cross functional project teams and management. *Report to senior management at required intervals. *Organise and run vehicle, engine, and system tests. *Analyse data and recommend design changes. *Identifying funding requirements and source for projects Skills Required: 3 KEY SKILLS REQUIRED: 1) Good working knowledge in exhaust and after treatment systems: Urea system and SCR catalysts, gasoline or diesel particulate filters 2) Engineering analytical skills: Simulation OR test based optimisation of after treatment and emissions over legislative drive-cycles. 3) Working knowledge of automotive powertrain requirements concerning performance, fuel consumption, emissions, durability. Experience Required: *Five years of proven experience in automotive exhaust system engineering and development: Hot-end, Urea delivery, Integration into engines. *Experience of high level programming and analysis with MATLAB *Good working knowledge of alternative/advanced materials *Working knowledge of chemistry of exhaust emissions Education Required: *Working knowledge of catalyst substrates, bricks. *Working knowledge of exhaust calibration and exhaust warm-up. * Mechanical / Automotive Engineering Degree BSc Additional Information: *40 Hours per week with 3:30pm finish on Fridays *Recruitment Consultant Grant Baker *Tel: *********** Our clients are unable to provide sponsorship for Tier 2 visas; therefore, only candidates eligible to work in the UK need apply!
