SEN Teaching Assistant - Richmond upon Thames
CER are seeking proactive Teaching Assistants for Special Educational Needs, who can develop strong working relationships with children with Autistic Spectrum Conditions. Our friendly primary school is based in the South West London borough of Richmond upon Thames, and tries to keep the ASC unit as inclusive and involved in the mainstream school life as possible. The school uses the behaviour analysis approach, ABA.
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated and resourceful SEN Teaching Assistant with experience of working with students of a varied age and ability range, within Primary stages. This is a prime opportunity for an experienced TA to utilise their skill set and progress in their career within the SEN sector.
We're looking for passionate and dedicated individuals who want to make a difference, who have the ability to differentiate their approach and provide an inclusive learning environment for students with additional needs. You must be proactive in your approach and able to use your own initiative.
We would particularly welcome applicants with the relevant skill set and experience in the following areas:
- Sensory impairment
- A good understanding of Special Educational Needs, specifically Autistic Spectrum Conditions
- P scales / P levels
- A patient attitude towards pupils with SEN
- Confident working with challenging behaviour, which may or may not be physical
- ABA trained
- Experience working in an SEN setting or personal experience supporting an individual with Autism
- Clear communication skills and ability to speak English fluently, as many of the children have Speech, Language and Communication Needs
