Front End Developer / London / 6 Months Contract / 500 to 600 GBP (Per Day) Leading bank based in London require an experienced Front End Developer to join their Personal Current Account Opening Team on a 6 month initial contract. This Team builds Journey's to help customers open current accounts more quickly and easily using the latest technology. Core Purpose of the Role: The client is the largest provider of digital banking products in the UK. Day after day, more and more customers are accessing their accounts using desktop and mobile with over a billion logons to my clients digital banking services last year. Joining their Digital & Transformation team as a Front End Developer in one their feature delivery teams you'll be at the heart of creating digital experiences for customers across our web, mobile and tablet applications. The kind of Engineers we're looking for will need to show: - Strong hands-on software design and development - Strong experience of the following essential: JavaScript, ES6, React, Flux, CSS/LESS/SASS, responsive design, single page applications. - Experience of unit and bdd testing tools such as Jasmine, Cucumber/Gerkin, Selenium. - Experience of build tools such as Gulp, Webpack, Browserify. - Experience creating making apps work in legacy browsers. - Understanding of web accessibilty and related tools. - Understanding of Semantic html. - Previous roles demonstrating a strong understanding of Agile, CI (and CD), Kanban, Automated testing (TDD, BDD, Selenium). - Experience in software architecture, process design, UX, accessibility, optimisation, and analytics. - Experience of working with RESTful APIs and web services - Ability to work in agile team but with tenacity to deal with the challenges working in a large corporate can generate, e.g. interacting with wider development and support teams to solve technical obstacles - Able to learn at pace and cross-skill where required to support project delivery - Proven technical and team leadership - Understanding of what makes a high-performing team tick - Front-line experience with identifying and resolving a mixture of internal and external issues that prevent teams from performing at their best - Strong understanding of platform and systems-level technical architecture, including common patterns and tradeoffs - Confidence to express own opinions, and be pragmatic about modifying them when appropriate - Passionate about technology and its application to real-world problems - Excellent teamworking and communication skills - A "team player", working co-operatively and productively with others across a variety of domains, disciplines and locations - Capable of openly exchanging information and providing support for colleagues from around the organisation to achieve business goals - Able to clearly articulate and explain technical concepts to audiences that vary in seniority and technical acumen - Able to formulate and express desired end state / vision and challenges and obstacles that stand in the way - Delivery focus - Desire and drive to understand business priorities and drivers, and place technical decisions and issues in context If you match these requirements, please apply in the normal way.
