Data Protection Officer - DPO If you have a good working knowledge of current Data Protection and ePrivacy Legislation and substantial knowledge of EU GDPR, this could be a great opportunity for you! A large and well established UK firm is currently seeking a Data Protection Officer capable of leading on all data protection and privacy matters across the enterprise encompassing people, processes and technology. This will include current operational matters and preparing for EU GDPR and ePrivacy legislation. As the Data Protection Officer you will: - Inform, advise and monitor compliance on current and future data protection and ePrivacy legislation; - Create and maintain data protection policies and procedures; - Maintain evidential records of compliance with current legislation; - Supervise and advise on data protection by design and privacy impact assessments; - Develop and execute relevant compliance project plans; - Manage a programme of staff awareness training, to deliver compliance and foster a culture of data privacy within the organisation; - Review commercial agreements and contracts; including Data Processing agreements with existing and future data processors; - Revise and lead data breach response and notification procedures; - Be the point of contact and co-operate with the ICO or equivalent geographical data protection regulators. - Act as the focal point for the organisation when data subjects are exercising their rights; Supervise and advise on the response to such requests; - Lead with the delivery of a risk based approach to EU GDPR compliance preparation; - Provide updates on the data protection compliance programme to the Executive Board and Management Team as appropriate. The ideal Data Protection Officer would have an outgoing personality to engage credibly with stakeholders at all levels, up to Board level. Be able to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality, respect and trust.
