My client has an estate of interactive and service provisioning applications. These systems serve both internal and external customers. The Test Engineer plays a key role in making sure that the applications developed by the Development Team are of a suitable quality, meet the desired requirements of the business and provide the best possible experience to the end customer. Key Responsibilities for the Test Engineer: To ensure that deliverables from the Development Team are of the highest possible quality, develop and execute test strategies, develop procedures to improve the quality of team deliverables. To clearly and concisely log defects and usability issues. In the case of defects, sufficient information should be provided for the problem to be easily reproduced, periodically review developer unit tests associated with implemented User Stories, creating additional unit tests where appropriate. To develop, manage and execute automated integration tests to assess and document differences in system accuracy between current and previous releases, develop and document Test Cases and Release Notes. To perform system and installation testing, assist in the planning process and provide estimates of test effort. To carry out Performance and Security Testing. Facilitate the continuous improvement of the Software Testing within the Development Team. To work closely with all members of the Development Team to keep Quality at the forefront of everyone's mind. Where possible, support other parts of the Standards business to promote Quality improvements Knowledge, Experience and Technical Skills: - Strong experience of testing across a range of websites and applications - Highly proficient in unit, integration, system and acceptance testing - Test Script/Case/Report and User Guide writing - Solid Cross Browser Testing experience - Usage of a bug tracking tool - JIRA/YouTrack or similar - Passionate about testing and improving the teams output - CMS experience Experience with any or all of the following would be an advantage: - Worked in an Agile environment - Selenium (or similar Automated Test Package) - Security Testing - Performance Testing - HTML - CSS - JavaScript The ideal Test Engineer will have a very keen eye for detail, with excellent communication skills, a desire to improve the status quo, drive to improve skill set, and lastly be a team player.
